"Our family was blessed having Erin as our doula and we'd definitely recommend her to others!"
As first time parents, my husband and I were so glad to have Erin as our doula for the birth of our baby. We appreciated all the support she gave before the birth by answering our many questions and helping us to prepare for what was to come. She was always available by email and phone during the months preceding the birth. When we first met Erin, we were actually in the process of searching for an OB practice that was more natural birth-friendly than the one we were currently in. She suggested a local practice we ended up choosing, and we were not disappointed. Erin came to our house twice before the delivery and helped us create our birth plan and a list of questions that we wanted to have answered by the midwives before the birth. She was very helpful in explaining different procedures, complications, and options that we might have to consider as we prepared for the uncertainties of labor and delivery. We consulted with Erin when I first started having contractions and stayed in contact with her throughout the day. She came to our house in the middle of the night when I started transitioning to more active labor. She helped me labor at home for several hours before we called the midwife and went to the hospital. I ended up having a multi-day labor, but Erin was with us the entire time. We were so thankful to have her support as we had a difficult time over those days. She took pictures after the birth that documented some very precious moments with our newborn that we would have never been able to take. She also helped me with breastfeeding and getting settled into the postpartum room. We also appreciated her follow-up visit postpartum during the first week to answer questions and help with several breastfeeding questions. Our family was blessed having Erin as our doula and we’d definitely recommend her to others!

"My birth experience was very different from my first child and I felt like she was extremely supportive and comforting both at home and at the hospital during labor."
Erin was a wonderful support for my family before, during, and after our baby's birth. She was always very easy to talk with on the phone or in person and made us feel very comfortable. She helped me choose an OB when I was moving into the area at several months pregnant. I greatly valued her advice and experience in that decision. She also helped reassure me when I lost my mucus plug early, and when the doctor told me the baby was oblique at my appointment the day before I went into labor. My birth experience was very different from my first child and I felt like she was extremely supportive and comforting both at my home and at the hospital during labor. She was not at all directive but just provided quiet support and advice when requested. I really felt more in control of my birth than the first time around. She helped rub my back and suggested positions to help my contractions effectively turn my baby girl from oblique to anterior. After birth she took beautiful pictures which I will treasure. She visited us and watched me breastfeed a few days later and helped reassure me and offer support for this area which I had anxiety about after a tough experience with lesions the first time around. I really feel like the time she spent with us understanding my first birth and experience helped so much for her to support us this time. My husband also felt very supported by her. Thank you Erin.

"I was able to have a natural childbirth and have no regrets about any decisions that I made."
I hired Erin as my doula because I wanted someone to help me manage the pain and encourage/support me since I wanted to have a natural childbirth. Erin was particularly helpful when my doctor wanted to induce me at 41 weeks. Erin gave me the information and encouragement I needed to call my doctor back and share my desire to wait until 42 weeks as long as the baby was healthy. I was able to go into labor naturally 10 days after my due date. Erin allowed me to labor in the way that I was comfortable, which was standing up. Yet, she also offered to help when she sensed that I needed it by suggesting that I sit on the birthing ball in-between contractions. I found it particularly helpful when she applied pressure on my back as I was having contractions. One thing that I was not expecting from hiring a doula was that I was able to process my labor experience as it was going on because Erin and I would talk in between each contraction. When my contractions were not coming regularly, she encouraged me that it was okay. When it came to actually delivering the baby, I was prepared for what position I wanted to be in because Erin and I had previously discussed it in one of our meetings. I highly recommend Erin as a doula. I feel that she allowed me to do what I was comfortable with, yet also offered her support and advice when needed. I was able to have a natural childbirth and have no regrets about any decisions that I made. That is a great gift to a new mom! Erin was very professional and extremely helpful. She interacted well with the nurses and doctor and earned their respect. After the birth one of the nurses and the doctor asked for her card. I cannot think of any deficiencies in Erin’s support or service. She was worth every penny.

"I feel like I was able to accomplish the birth I had just dreamed about because we chose Erin to be our doula."
We met with Erin around 36 weeks and at the first meeting really felt like she was the perfect match to what we were looking for. We were trying for an all natural VBAC--also really wanted a completely different birth story this time. My first pregnancy with my son was rough and filled with not pleasant memories. We liked that Erin was super honest and upfront with us. She helped me create my birth and baby plan. She had great suggestions and advice throughout my last weeks of pregnancy. During the labor process she was amazing. By the time I was in active labor my husband was very happy to have her there. Not only to help me and support me but also help him to know how he could best help me. She was very encouraging and great at helping me stay focused through each contraction. She really helped me be able to have the birth I really wanted. So very thankful for her and the services she provides. I feel like I was able to accomplish the birth I had just dreamed about because we chose Erin to be our doula. I highly recommend her to anyone searching for a doula. Erin is amazing and will make you feel comfortable. She is very helpful in every aspect of the labor process.

"Erin knew exactly what I needed and was a calming presence."
Erin was my doula for my first baby who was born in April 2011. My water broke in the middle of the night and my husband and I promptly headed to the hospital. Erin arrived minutes later and due to her assistance throughout the night I was able to make it through a hard, short, unmedicated labor. My husband was clueless as to what to do to help me through labor, so Erin gave him great suggestions and guidance during the process which allowed me to make it through the pain of back labor. Erin knew exactly what I needed and was a calming presence. In addition to physical support she provided the verbal support I needed and also understood my need to internalize during labor rather than talk much. I don't know how I would have made it through labor without Erin's help and encouragement and highly recommend her!

"Erin truly had our best interests at heart and helped us in every way possible."
Erin was fantastic! She was very professional and really connected with my husband and me on a personal level as well. She was very knowledgeable. Erin truly had our best interests at heart and helped us in every way possible. Our birthing experience was not exactly easy (a failed induction leading to a C-section over the course of three days), but she was there every step of the way, encouraging us and helping us through it. I would HIGHLY recommend her to anyone! What a blessing she was to my husband and me!!! I can't imagine how labor would have gone without her; she was such an asset to us.

"She arrived just minutes after we did at the hospital and went right to work."
We had Erin as our doula for our third child. You’ve probably heard the expression, “There’s strength in numbers.” No, I don’t mean invite your entire family and friends to your baby’s birth, but that there’s a lot of truth to that saying. Erin was that 3rd person who was there to assist in any way she could and gave “strength” to the way we desired our baby’s birth to be. She arrived just minutes after we did at the hospital and went right to work. My baby was in a posterior position so I had a lot of back pain with contractions. Erin used techniques to help relieve some of the pain I was experiencing. Her presence inside the labor room also helped back up our desire to have a natural child birth to a staff that wasn’t accustomed to it. Something I really appreciate about Erin’s approach to being a doula is that she strives to know the level of help and involvement you want so she can be that custom fit you’re looking for. She does this ahead of time by listening and asking questions so that she gets a good feel of what you like and don’t like and how she can help.
